The demo version of Igor Pro is limited in several important ways:
• Files cannot be saved.
• Experiments cannot be saved.
• The clipboard contents cannot be transferred to other programs.
• The printing output is lightly over-printed with Igor-related words and is slower as a result.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Igor Pro now requires system 8.5 or later and also requires a Power Macintosh.
If you want to run Igor on a 68000 CPU, you must run Igor Pro 3.16 or earlier.

GETTING STARTED WITH IGOR PRO
We strongly recommend that you take the "Guided Tour of Igor" in the Getting Started manual. It will get you off on the right footand will save you a lot of time in the long run.
To get a feel for what Igor Pro can do, double-click some of the files in the "Examples" folder.
Igor Pro has extensive and informative balloon help. And check out the Help Browser: Choose "Igor Help Browser" in the Help menu.

IMPORTANT KNOWN CONFLICTS

Action WYSIWYG Menus from Power On Software is known to make Igor Pro crash. To prevent this, use the WYSIWYG Menus control panel to stop WYSIWYG Menus from running with Igor Pro.

Many versions of Adobe Type Reunion are known to conflict with Igor Pro. Some versions allow you to disable ATR for certain applications; we recommend that you disable ATR for Igor Pro.

IGOR AND QUICKTIME
If you have Apple Computer's QuickTime™ 4.0 or later installed, Igor can import more kinds of image files, such as JPEG and GIF. You can download the free QuickTime software at: http://www.apple.com/quicktime

INTERNET CONFIG
Igor uses Internet Config to launch your web browser when you choose WaveMetrics Home Page from the Apple menu. If you don't have Internet Config already installed, Igor will try launching Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer using "Internet Shortcut" files in the Igor Help Files folder.

ONLINE MANUAL
This demo version of Igor Pro ships with a PDF (Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format) Getting Started manual. The full version of Igor ships with the full manual (Volume 1 - Getting Started, Volume II - User's Guide, Volume III, Programming and Reference), all in PDF format.

To use the online manual you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader 4 or later (or Acrobat Exchange). A Free Acrobat Reader can be downloaded from www.adobe.com.

ACTIVATING IGOR EXTENSIONS
Extensions in the "More Extensions" folder are not available in Igor until you activate them.

To activate the Graphical Slicer extension, for example:
1. In the Finder, make an alias for the file "More Extensions:Visualization:Graphical Slicer".
2. Drag the alias into the "Igor Extensions" folder.
3. Restart Igor Pro. To see documentation and instructions for using the Graphical Slicer,
double-click the file "More Extensions:Visualization:Graphical Slicer Help". If you want to have the Graphical Slicer Help file always available in the Windows menu:
4. Make an alias to the Graphical Slicer Help file and drag it into the "Igor Help Files" folder.
