EndNote Update X4.0.1 for Windows
The update is available to endNote X4 for Windows users and includes a number of improvements.
NOTE: You must have a licensed copy of EndNote X4.0 for Windows installed to run the X4.0.1 update.
You may have been directed to this page by wey of the "EndNote Program Updates..." option on the endNote Help menu. If so, you will need to manually download yhe upgrade. Do not install the update if you use WORD 2010. A separate update will be avalialble shorlty.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR WORD 2007, 2003 ONLY
Close all programs and turn off any background software, such as virus protection software. Download the update (please note that this is a .zip file that contains the .msp installer). To runthis installer openthe ZIP file and then double-click the MSP file to update your version of EndNote X4.
Improvements :
- PDF files imported from a network now open correctly
- Maximum record limit error extended beyond 330,000 records.
- Eliminated corrupt data issue when connecting to Ovid Medline.
- Windows registry is now properly updated when adding a Spell check dictionary.
- Improvements to importing references into a copy of an EndNote library.
- Passwords in connection files are now hidden with asterisks.
- Groups - minor UI improvements.
- Find Full Text - updated support for Wiley Interscience and other minor improvements.
- PDF Indexing - several improvements to indexing and minor UI changes.
- Cite While You Write for Microsoft Word:
- Fixed several footnote-related formatting issues
- 'Return to Word Processor' command now works with Word 2010
- Focus now jumps to the correct citation in the edit/manage dialog
- Hyperlink are no longer visible after having been removed
- References are no longe unformatted when 'author' is excluded from in-text citations.
