Document Blocks

An important decision when creating any technical document, presentation, or application is the amount of technical detail. With Maple 10, your important points are not hidden amongst derivations, commands, and extra white space. You can hide intermediate computations, show results in the middle of a block of text, and not enter or show a single Maple command.

For more information on using Document mode as a command-free interface, see the Document mode section.

Document blocks allow you to hide intermediate computations and commands, while still maintaining a live, interactive technical document. The steps necessary for calculations, but not for comprehension of the final document, can be hidden from view.

The Document Blocks feature in Maple 10

Features include:

  • The ability to show hidden computations.
  • Hidden and visible calculations are updated when the document is re-executed, ensuring that the results dependent on the hidden computations are still correct.
  • Math and text can be combined in a single block. Results can appear on a new line or inline directly beside the calculation.
