SigmaPlot Version 11 is here !

Announcing the all new SigmaPlot 11, the premier graphing application now has powerful advisory statistical analysis features with over 50 key statistical methods and over 100 graph types. Now used by more than 250,000 scientists, researchers and engineers across a wide spectrum of disciplines for data and statistical analysis, SigmaPlot lets users to present their data using exact, publication-quality graphs and reports.

SigmaPlot Version 11 now offers a full range of easy-to-use statistical functions in addition to graphing templates and utilities with improved features for accurate and fast data analysis for non-statisticians. Unlike other analysis and graphing packages, spreadsheets or other business graphing products, SigmaPlot 11 offers complete advisory statistical analysis features along with a full range of graphing templates and utilities for unmatched data accuracy, speed, data analysis and presentation. SigmaPlot is well known for its flexibility to customize any object on a graph to meet the exacting requirements of the scientific community.


SigmaPlot 11.0 New Features


WHAT'S NEW...

  • 2D Vector Plots - 2D Vector Plots are a new feature in SigmaPlot v11.0. A 2D Vector plot is a display of a field of vectors in x,y coordinates where both direction and magnitude are represented. A popup dialog box can allow the user to specify arrow properties such as color, line thickness, and arrowhead length and angle.
    This feature can be used by, but not limited to physicists, climate researchers, and other fields where spatial data includes both direction and magnitude information.
  • Global Curve Fitting - It allows users to easily setup a global curve fit. It gives users the ability to easily share one or more equation parameters across multiple data sets.
  • SigmaStat Permanently Included in SigmaPlot - This addition will also make SigmaPlot more competitive with other products on the market such as Origin, Prism, IGOR and Excel which already had statistical analysis and technical graphing available in their base product. In addition, a new release of SigmaStat Version 4.0 will be still be available as a separate program.
  • Pre-Formatted Worksheets - The user can start by selecting the type a graph that they wish to create and a worksheet will be automatically created with the data format required for that graph. Data entered into the worksheet is immediately displayed on the graph. This feature will also demonstrate to the user the strong relationship between the data format and the graph type.
  • Automatic Updating of Quick Transforms - Each worksheet can hold a list of user defined transforms that will automatically be re-run whenever the transform input data has changed.
  • Improved 3D Graph Customization - In SigmaPlot v.10, almost all objects in a 2D graph were selectable with a mouse click. Almost all objects in a 3D graph were not. SigmaPlot11 now adds mouse selectability to all 3D graph objects.
  • New User Interface - SigmaPlot v.11.0 now enjoys an updated look and feel across the entire application. Users can also add or prune out toolbar features or functions the user decides he's going to use thereby streamlining his customized workspace.
  • Support for EMF Files - Enhanced Metafile Format (EMF) files are a new and improved 32-bit revision of the WMF format. EMF files have extended functionality over WMF files. SP11 now includes support for importing and exporting EMF files.
  • 100% Vista Compliant - SP11 is fully Vista compliant and including support for SigmaPlot help files.
  • Import Excel 2007 Files Directly into SP11 - SigmaPlot V.11.0 adds compatibility for Microsoft Office 2007. Previous versions would not import Excel 2007 files without an intermediate conversion step to a prior file version.
  • Standard Curves Macro Improvement - In addition to the EC50 value already computed, the user can also compute other user-entered values like EC40 and EC60 values instantly. Two five-parameter logistic functions have been added and the Dynamic Curve Fitting feature included to help solve difficult curve fitting problems.


The New Data Analysis Features

Advanced Advisory Statistics within SigmaPlot 11.0
SigmaPlot 11 is now a complete graphing and advisory statistics suite. SigmaPlot 11 can guide users through every step of advanced statistical analysis without the user having to be a statistical expert.

With SigmaPlot 11, you can compare effects among groups including before-and-after or repeated measures studies. You can also:

  • Conduct survival analysis
  • Analyze rates and proportions
  • Perform regression and correlation analyses
  • Calculate power and sample size

One does not need to know which statistical test is right for your data. Simply open the Advisory Statistics Wizard, answer a few questions about your data and your project and SigmaPlot will suggest the appropriate test and also check your data for underlying assumptions.

 


Global Curve Fitting

Past versions of SigmaPlot could perform global curve fits but the procedure was too involved and complicated. SigmaPlot 11 now employs an all new user interface allowing users to easily setup a global curve fit. SigmaPlot 11 also gives users the ability to easily share one or more equation parameters across multiple data sets.

 


Standard Curves Macro is Improved

In addition to the EC50 value already computed, the user can also compute other user-entered EC values such as EC40 and EC60 and compute them instantly. For greater user flexibility. Lets say you like to start by using a particular kind of graph but you don’t know how to set up the worksheet to achieve it. SigmaPlot 11 allows the user to select a graph first and then gives the user a pre-formatted worksheet to structure their data. The data entered into the worksheet is immediately displayed on the graph. This feature demonstrates to the user the strong relationship between the data format and the graph type.

 

The New Windows Integration Features


100% Vista Compliant

Earlier versions of SigmaPlot ran well on Vista except the “Help” menu function which was changed in Vista. SigmaPlot 11 is fully Vista compliant and including support for SigmaPlot help files.

 


Import Excel 2007 Files Directly

SigmaPlot 11 adds compatibility for Microsoft Office 2007. Previous versions would not import Excel 2007 files without a conversion step to a prior file version.
