| EViews 4.1 Upgrade QMS is pleased to announce the release of EViews 4.1, our free upgrade to EViews 4.0. In response to user requests, we have added several new features to EViews. Some of these features, like added function support, expanded Wald test output, and extensions to the model program language, are minor improvements to existing routines. Others, like the new unit root testing features, and extensions to both the state space error, and system instrumental variables specification languages, represent significant improvements in the set of tools for working with, and analyzing, your data: * Unit Root Testing Additional details on these features are provide in our brief description of EViews 4.1 update. Simply download and run the installer file and you are ready to begin working with an improved EViews. There are two installers from which you can choose. The first installer contains all of the EViews 4.1 executable files, along with a PDF file and a supplemental help system documenting the the new features in the upgrade. The second installer contains upgraded documentation that includes PDF and help files which fully integrate the description of the new features into the existing documentation. When you run one of the two installers, the installer will prompt you for your 4.1 installation directory. By default, the installer will overwrite your original EViews 4.0 installation. If you wish to keep your original EViews 4.0, first create a new directory for EViews 4.1 and copy the contents of the original EViews 4.0 directory into the new directory. When the installer prompts you for the 4.1 installation directory, simply point to the new directory.

Supplemental documentation describes the new features in EViews 4.1 EViews 4.1 documentation (6169K). Simply run the executable to update your copy of the EViews 4.0 documentation. Contains full update to the existing electronic documentation including updated PDF files and an expanded help system. When you launch EViews 4.1, you can verify that the install was successful by selecting Help/About EViews from the main menu. You should be certain to select the Help/EViews 4.1 Read Me menu item for further instructions. Note that updating your copy of EViews will not require reregistration. |
