Origin 7 Service Release 2 - English

PLEASE READ!!!

If you have Origin 7.0220 (to check, select Help:About Origin), you will need to obtain SR1 first (choose Origin 7 SR0 [v7.0220 (B220)] from the list below). You will then need to apply the patch and RUN ORIGIN AT LEAST ONCE. You may then return to this page to download and apply Service release 2.

If you have a network version of Origin, apply the patch only to the Origin server folder, not to any Origin client folders. Updating the Origin server automatically updates the Origin clients as well. Additionally, any future Origin clients added by running \ClientSetup\Setup.exe will also have the updates.

I am currently running:

Origin 7 SR0 [v7.0220 (B220)]

Origin 7 SR1 [v7.0300 (B300)]

Origin 7 SR1 [v7.0301 (B301)]

Origin 7 Service Release 2 Help Files

The help files for this Service Release are available from the links below to reduce the size of the SR2 download. You should download and install all of these files for Origin's Help system to work properly. To install the files, copy them into the "Help" folder in your Origin installation. For example, in a default installation of Origin, copy the files into C:\ProgramFiles\OriginLab\Origin7\Help

Origin 7 Service Release 2 - Notes

All versions of this patch automatically update the origin7.exe file, its associated *.DLLs, and all non-editable Origin support files. Any Origin support files which can be modified by the user (*.OGS, *.OTP, *.OTW, *.OTM, *.CNF) will NOT be updated if they have been modified since installing the release version of Origin 7 (or Service Release 1). When the patch comes across a file which has been modified, it will notify the installer of the patch (you) through a warning message similar to the following:

warning wpt0036: Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match.

A list of these file messages is automatically generated and saved as a file called PATCH.ERR. This list serves as a quick guide for file replacement in the event that you choose to update these files at any time. To locate this file, launch Windows Explorer and navigate to the same folder in which v7sr1_sr2.exe, is stored. To read Patch.Err, open it with a text editor such as Notepad.

Note: There may be files listed in PATCH.ERR which are not of type *.OGS, *.OTP, *.OTW, *.OTM, or *.CNF. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to *.OGO and *.DLL files. Please ignore any mention of these files as they are listed in error.

Any support files which were not updated by the patch can be replaced manually by downloading v7patch2.zip and extracting the desired file(s) to your Origin folder.

Reminder for Network Administrators :

To install SR2 on each client machine, perform the following steps :
1. Install SR2 on the server machine first.
2. Reinstall the client version of the software over the existing client installation. To do this, run setup.exe from the server's Origin 7 Client Setup folder.
